I am so excited (and a little bit nervous) to be participating as an Educator in this weekend’s Startup Weekend Education: Pittsburgh.
I honestly have no idea what I’m getting into. I’ve heard that these events are amazing sites of collaboration and that they have led to some truly great projects. I also know that they have great food and swag, so that’s encouraging. I wonder what other educators will be there; will I be one of the few higher education people in the group or will there be a lot of us? Will I be able to offer my expertise on Open Educational Resources to folks there in a productive way? What kind of projects will come out of this?
My goal going into this event is, as always, to learn something new. Whether that comes in the form of a skill or a method for building a business or a new tool or what, I’m sure it will be a great experience.
I also expect to do a lot of tweeting over the weekend about my experience and I’ll do a wrap-up blog post after it’s over. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @parnopaeus if you want to see my tweets from the thick of things.
